My therapist recommended this to me. I got so much out of it. One thing that helped was in the beginning chapters when you go over your OCD symptoms and issues. I had no idea that so much of what I struggle with stems from my OCD. It gave me tools that I am using now and which help daily. There was a significant part of the back of the book which targets specific OCD issues that didn't apply to me but I know would be very helpful for those with those issues. I just skipped those parts. I'd say read and do the exercises for the parts that apply to you. I'm really grateful to have found this book.

Great book for all of those who have OCD. I've lived with it for most of my life, and this book not only helped me to understand OCD better, but it also helped me feel not so alone, and helped me learn some techniques to help fight my OCD.Great book. Great exercises. Great evaluations.

I think what makes this book the most engaging is that it followed the story of 5 people suffering from OCD, and 2/5 were exactly my situation! It confirmed:1) I have OCD2) My OCDs are quite common, and having confirmed my OCD, I've taught myself to dismiss anything related to those specifics thoughts/obsessions. I throw those thoughts in the irrational/useless pile and move on

My partner purchased this book hoping to get a grip on a life long struggle with OCD. It has been immensely helpful, accomplishing more in less time than she had ever accomplished in 1-1 therapy. You will be hard pressed to find a decent therapist that actually follows the research-based cognitive behavioral methods outlined in this book. Most therapists want to chat, give you some Dr. Phil style advice, and take your money. It's shameful really, since CBT is evidence based. But the world is full of bad therapists.Regardless, this book has helped my partner significantly, and that's spilled over to my life as well. It's an absolutely wonderful investment and probably the best $16 you'll spend in your life.

I have suffered from OCD most of my life and this book has been amazing!!! I would definitely recommend it. Just reading the stories from others alone is helpful and then it explains the condition and how to treat OCD also with a family section to explain to your family about what it is you are going through and how they can help.

This is becoming a staple for me in my therapy office as I work with more and more clients with OCD symptoms. The worksheets and exercises are extremely helpful. Thank you Dr. Hyman for creating this useful workbook!!

Good easy to understand information for my OCD patient, most of assignments are also helpful.

In the entire field of books and workbooks on all forms of ocd and treatments- this book is the gold standard! It is the best book written on ocd ever! I have never written in it as a workbook- I just consult it over and over- it’s that good.
