About the Author
Empar Fernández (Barcelona, 1962) alterna la docencia con la escritura, tanto de ficción como de no ficción. Con su primera novela, Horacio en la memoria, obtiene el Premio Cáceres. En 2004 comienza su colaboración literaria con Pablo Bonell Goytisolo y publican Cienfuegos, 17 agosto; Las cosas de la muerte; Mala sangre y Un mal día para morir. Resulta finalista del IX Premio Unicaja de Novela Fernando Quiñones con El loco de las muñecas. Posteriormente publica, entre otros, Hijos de la derrota, La cicatriz (Premio Rejadorada de Novela Breve) y Mentiras capitales. Ha quedado finalista del Premio Medellín Negro 2013 y del Ciudad de Carmona 2014. Con La última llamada resultó finalista del premio Valencia Negra 2015. Su anterior novela, Maldita verdad (2016), recibió el Premio Tenerife Noir y fue finalista del Premio Hammet a la mejor novela negra en castellano. EN 2017 publicó Hotel Lutecia (Suma de Letras).
